Energy management is a crucial part of every servo press. At the EuroBLECH 2016, Bosch Rexroth demonstrated electro-hydraulic drive concepts with innovative potentials in this field.

Within our cooperation with Bosch Rexroth, we have created an augmented reality application illustrating the groundbreaking energy concept of the forming machine. This way, we demonstrate the energetic coupling of main drives, die cushion drives and intermediate accumulators and the respective energy exchange in different phases of operation.

The Augmented Reality App of Chemnitz University of Technology clarifies the advantages of a hybrid drive concept. This way, motors can be applied efficiently as kinetic accumulators reducing intermediate circuit conversion losses while the mains power demand remains almost constantly at a low level. Intelligence, flexibility and transparency in the sense of Industry 4.0 are the features of groundbreaking production and operating concepts. The digital twin of the servo press already showed all components of the drive and control level. This enabled us to create the augmented reality application in a very short time. On the same basis, crucial information can be visualized already today by machine manufacturers and end-users – for optimization of the forming process or maintenance directly on site.
